Community station Radio Rubí has completed a major technical upgrade of its main studio, installing a Forum IP Split digital console from AEQ.
Founded in 1979, Radio Rubí broadcasts on 99.7 FM as the municipal station for the Catalan city of Rubí. Known for its public service remit, the station delivers a mix of local news, sports and cultural programming, and was recognised in 1996 with the Rosalía Rovira award for best municipal broadcaster in Catalonia.
The recent upgrade continues Radio Rubí’s long-standing relationship with AEQ, which has supplied the station with audio codecs and automation tools in previous installations. According to AEQ, the Forum IP Split was selected for its operational reliability, audio quality and ease of use — key criteria for a public station with limited resources.
The console features AEQ’s FR Core modular engine and offers up to six quad fader modules, plus a separate control and monitoring unit. Its modular, compact design allows for flexible configuration, from self-op setups to integrated control-room environments.
Forum IP also supports AoIP multichannel audio, using AES67 and Dante protocols to exchange signals with systems from more than 300 manufacturers. Optional Madi connectivity and built-in digital telephone hybrids provide further integration options.
Radio Rubí’s main studio now operates with a setup designed specifically for live broadcasting. It features fader-based control, external signal management and intercom capabilities.
