Favorite Music Radio Cebu, broadcasting on 93.1 FM in the province of Cebu, Philippines, has modernized its main broadcast studio with new digital infrastructure centred on the AEQ Capitol IP audio console.
Cebu is located in the central Visayas region and is home to Cebu City, the provincial capital and one of the Philippines’ most important economic and cultural centres. Often referred to as the “Queen City of the South,” it is a major hub for broadcasting in the region.
The station forms part of the Favorite Music Radio group, a prominent network owned by the Philippine Collective Media Corporation with a presence in many key Philippine cities. Its programming combines live entertainment with a curated mix of national and international music.
As part of the upgrade, Favorite Music Radio Cebu installed the AEQ Capitol IP — an ultra-compact digital console that now serves as the core of the studio’s audio operations. All signals are routed through the mixer, which offers IP connectivity and is designed for high-quality, continuous use.
A fixed-configuration digital mixer, the AEQ Capitol IP features eight faders and a 16-input, 16-output core. It supports four mic/line inputs, 12 analog inputs, four digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3) inputs, two digital stereo USB connections, and optional telephone lines. It also supports 16 AoIP channels via Ethernet or up to 64 MADI channels over fibre.
AEQ states that the Capitol IP is widely used among regional broadcasters due to its advanced digital features, reliability and intuitive operation, even in remote or high-demand environments.
