U.S. nonprofit Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio will host a free webinar on Oct. 28 exploring how radio professionals can incorporate artificial intelligence into their content workflows. “AI for Content Creators” will begin at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.
The session is designed for on-air personalities, producers, programmers and other content creators. It will cover using AI to develop ideas, research topics, prepare interviews and adapt on-air material for digital, social media and podcast platforms.
MIW board member Meg Dowdy, regional content director and national contesting director at Townsquare Media, will moderate the panel. The speakers will share examples of how they use AI in their content strategies while retaining an authentic voice and editorial judgment.
Panelists include Andre Yancey, brand manager for Audacy’s 102 JAMS in San Francisco and assistant brand manager for 94.7 The Block in New York. Lauren “Lo” Sessions, host and digital personality for Urban One and KKBQ, will discuss multiplatform storytelling and digital audience engagement based on her work with Houston’s “The Lo Show.”
Carolyn McArdle and Cort Johnson, co-hosts of “The Morning Breeze” on iHeartMedia’s 98.1 The Breeze in San Francisco, will also join the panel. They will discuss how they use AI collaboratively within a morning-show team and across radio, digital and podcast content.
“AI is quickly becoming another tool in the content creator’s toolbox, but knowing how to use it effectively while maintaining the authenticity and personality that make great radio compelling is critical,” said MIW Board President Sheila Kirby. She said the panel would offer practical examples of where AI can support the creative process.
Dowdy said the aim was to help attendees experiment with the technology without diminishing radio’s human element. “AI can help content creators move faster, experiment more and get more mileage out of the work they’re already doing, but the goal isn’t to automate the personality out of radio,” she said.
The webinar will comprise a 45-minute panel discussion followed by a 15-minute audience question-and-answer session.
Registration is free through the MIW webinar page here.
