Brazil’s Radio Cruzeiro has modernized its main studio, installing an AEQ Capitol IP12 mixer at the heart of its digital operation.
Founded in 1995 by the Cruzeiro do Sul Cultural Foundation — an initiative of the directors of the Cruzeiro do Sul newspaper — the station was created to serve as an educational and cultural radio channel. Since its inception, Cruzeiro FM 92.3 has offered a mix of music and news, becoming a trusted voice in the interior of São Paulo. Based in Sorocaba — a major city located about 90 kilometres west of São Paulo city — the station delivers continuous 24-hour programming. It remains an essential platform for listeners in the region to share opinions and access cultural content.
As part of its recent studio renovation, Radio Cruzeiro selected AEQ’s Capitol IP12 mixer to manage the station’s signal production. According to the station, the decision was based on the system’s robustness, digital audio quality and ease of use — key factors for its team of experienced operators.
The AEQ Capitol IP12 is a digital audio mixing console with a fixed configuration of 12 faders. Its IP connectivity is integrated via a single module offering 16 input and 16 output channels. The console provides four mic/line inputs, 12 analogue inputs, four digital stereo AES/EBU inputs, two digital stereo USB inputs, two optional telephone lines and optional multichannel digital audio links, as well as 16 AoIP channels over two Ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels via optical fibre.
AEQ says the Capitol IP stands out for its IP-capable digital technology, intuitive operation and durability, making it a popular choice for small but high-activity studios worldwide, such as Radio Cruzeiro.
