Munich-based Radio Gong 96.3 has launched a “news channel” stream that features roughly three-minute news breaks every 10 minutes or so. In between are up-tempo songs.
A release said, “Radio Gong 96.3 has launched Munich’s first news channel ‘Munich 24/7.’ From now on, users can listen to the latest news from Munich, Bavaria and the world via web stream anytime and anywhere. In addition to daily reports from politics and society, listeners can also expect a wide range of sports, stock market and business news, as well as interesting background features and event tips for Munich and the region.”
Radio Gong’s Konrad Schwarz said, “Although there is currently a certain news fatigue, there is great interest in current, local information in a city like Munich. A counterweight to the public news channel can therefore do no harm.”
He added, “We offer the people of Munich and their neighbors an information service that can be accessed flexibly — for example while commuting between the office and home.”
