Ferncast has developed its suite of audio processing features for internet streaming, audio-on-demand and other audio encoding use cases. The next-generation Multiband Compressor, ngMBC, optimizes sound across the frequency spectrum, ensuring that even a diverse radio program always hits the right feel and offers listeners the intended experience based on the genre of music played and the environment in which it is expected to be enjoyed, the company says.
Operationally, it gives engineers more precise control than a standard multiband compressor would. It offers ready-made presets developed by professional audio engineers for a wide range of genres and enables users to take advantage of its in-depth parameterization.
Processing profiles can be customized for specific programs or even specific selections of tracks. This means a single encoder can handle classical music, rock, techno, a talk radio program and various kinds of on-demand content without manual reconfiguration in between.
The ngMBC is also fully integrated with Ferncast’s next-generation Loudness Control (ngLC). The ngMBC is available as an integrated aixtream feature and as a standalone software product.
