APELDOORN, Netherlands — Dutch full-service broadcast and distribution provider Radio Netwerk Nederland, based in Sneek in the Netherlands’ northern Friesland province, will take over the technical management of Easy 95.5 FM, both for the FM and DAB broadcasting systems. Easy FM is a local public broadcaster based in Almere, central Flevoland province. Radio Netwerk Nederland recently completely renovated the FM transmitting systems for Easy 95.5 FM in Almere Centrum and Almere Buiten.
Radio Netwerk Nederland is a technical company specializing in all matters related to the radio sector. It recently invested in FM and DAB+ planning software and collaborates with LS Telcom from Germany. The employees of the frequency planning department have 35 years of experience in the Dutch market, which helps when dealing with the Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur (the National Inspectorate for Digital Infrastructure) — the department within the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy responsible for overseeing the Dutch digital infrastructure.
Renewing transmission
In addition to removing the mast construction on the roof and installing the FM and DAB+ antennas for Easy 95.5 FM in the DVB-T mast on top of the WTC Almere in collaboration with Broadcast Innovations, Radio Netwerk Nederland also replaced the audio processor in the Easy FM broadcast chain and renewed the transmission system and audio supply using an MPX over IP codec from Thimeo Audio Technology B.V. Thimeo’s Stereotool audio processor receives the audio signals via Dante and then processes them for FM, DAB and online broadcasts. The FM transmitters receive the program directly from Stereotool via MicroMPX over IP using Thimeo’s MicroMPX.
Thanks to the transmitters’ replacement, they can now be monitored and managed remotely. With these interventions, Radio Netwerk Nederland relieves Easy 95.5 FM of the technical management of the broadcasting installations. This helps ensure efficient operation of the radio station infrastructure, allowing Easy 95.5 FM to focus on providing quality broadcasts to their listeners.
