Orban Labs has announced the release of the Optimod 5750 HD, a cost-effective solution for independent processing of HD channels. This new 1-RU hardware unit, based on the Optimod 5750 processor, offers processing capabilities for FM analog, DAB+, streaming, HD1 and HD2. FM/HD1 channels can be blended or managed independently, while HD2 is also managed independently.
The Optimod 5750 provides four processing structures: five-band, low-latency five-band, ultra-low-latency five-band, and two-band. It features intelligent two-band window-gated AGC, RDS/RBDS generation, remote control and monitoring via an HTML5 web browser, SNMP V2, diversity delay, silence detection, Orban’s exclusive Less-More control and multiple factory presets.
“With the introduction of this product, we are working to push further adoption of multiple HD Radio channels among broadcasters who can’t afford or don’t want to pay the high price of other multi-channel processors,” said David Day, president of Orban. This processor will be available at about half the cost of comparable processors on the market.”
The Optimod 5750 HD is expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2024.
