Salem Media Group Inc. has announced that Larry Elder has rejoined the Salem Radio Network, Salem News Channel and Salem Podcast Network.
Elder replaces Brandon Tatum on the Salem Radio Network and the Salem News Channel after a two-year hiatus. Elder has been known for over 20 years as a radio talk show host in Los Angeles. He joined Salem’s station KRLA AM 870 The Answer in 2016 and was later syndicated nationally by Salem Radio Network.
Elder took a break from radio and TV to run in the Gavin Newsom recall election in 2021. Although voters did not recall the governor, Elder garnered the most votes among the 50 candidates running to replace Newsom. From that experience, Elder decided to run for president in the 2024 election. He dropped out of the race in October 2023 and supported former president Donald Trump.
Elder began focusing on his podcast, “Larry Elder – We’ve Got a Country to Save,” which, according to Salem, now reaches 500,000 downloads per episode. Elder continues with that podcast but will now be heard across the country in the PM drive time slot on the West Coast, 3-6 p.m. PT and on the East Coast at 6-9 p.m. ET. He will be heard on numerous radio stations and also carried live on the Salem News Channel. Salem will handle sales and marketing for the podcast.
