Radio Vitamenia, the municipal radio station of Santa Maria de Palautordera near Barcelona, has been a fixture of the regional audiovisual scene since its founding in 1981. It offers a mix of local news, music and entertainment programming, and regional and national sports coverage.
The station has continuously broadcast on 91.5 FM. In 2022, it launched a new website with streaming services and began offering podcasts on Ivoox and Spotify. That expansion included Radio Random, an initiative aimed at attracting younger listeners.
As part of its ongoing modernization, the station has upgraded its main broadcast studio, with AEQ digital technology at its core. The centerpiece of the new system is the AEQ Capitol IP, an ultra-compact digital mixer that handles all audio signals produced in the studio. Station management says it chose AEQ technology for its robustness and ease of operation.
The AEQ Capitol IP is an eight-channel digital audio mixer with a fixed configuration. It includes a 16-in, 16-out IP module and supports various input options, including four mic/line, 12 analog, four digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), two digital stereo USB and optional telephone and multichannel digital audio links. It also supports 16 AoIP channels over two ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels via optical fiber.
AEQ Capitol is widely used in municipal radio stations worldwide. It offers IP-based digital technology in a simple, durable design suited to local broadcasters.
Radio Vitamenia says it remains committed to local radio, embracing new technologies and ideas while continuing to work with a diverse team of collaborators who shape its programming.
