WorldCast Systems announced the release of its new APTmpX Software, a cost-effective addition to its APT range of codecs, designed to work seamlessly with third-party software sound processors. This software employs the APTmpX algorithm, recognized for efficient MPX/Composite transmission, and is tailored for ease of deployment.
The APTmpX Software, which operates on Windows platforms, allows broadcasters to implement a high-performance MPX solution affordably. It ingests MPX over AES67 and integrates into existing studio setups, offering high signal quality and transparency at various bitrates, including 300, 400 and 600 kb/s. The software also incorporates WorldCast’s SureStream technology, which ensures reliable MPX transmission with packet redundancy and minimal latency.
Compatible with APT hardware codecs, APT’s virtual codec and Ecreso FM AiO Series transmitters, the APTmpX Software supports a range of broadcasting requirements while maintaining optimal signal quality throughout the MPX over IP broadcast chain.
Gregory Mercier, director of product marketing at WorldCast Systems, highlighted the software’s impact, saying, “APTmpX Software represents a key change in the market by simplifying and reducing the cost of FM broadcast chains while benefiting from APT’s highest quality standards. Broadcasters now have a new MPX compression and transport solution to turn to for superior on-air quality and operational efficiency.”
To mark the launch, WorldCast Systems is offering the APTmpX Software for free with the purchase of an Ecreso FM AiO Series transmitter that includes a built-in APT IP Decoder. WorldCast will demonstrate the APTmpX Software at IBC 2024, booth 8C61.
