Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. has opened applications for the seventh edition of its annual Elevating Women in Programming Mentorship. The initiative supports the professional development of women working in U.S. radio programming roles.
The year-long program connects one selected mentee with experienced radio programming professionals. It includes one-on-one conversations, career guidance and networking opportunities. The mentee will also attend the 2026 NAB Radio Show in Las Vegas, scheduled for next April.
The mentorship is open to U.S.-based female brand managers, content or program directors, assistant program directors and music directors. Applications are open through June 20 and must be submitted through a dedicated portal on the MIW website, here.
“This initiative not only fosters personal and professional growth but also builds a stronger and more inclusive future for the industry,” said Sheila Kirby, president of the MIW board.
Previous participants include Meg Dowdy, regional content director at Townsquare Media; Traci LaTrelle, assistant program director and music director at WHUR-FM/Washington; Leslie Scott, former vice president of digital audio content at Audacy; Amanda Habrowski, assistant program director at iHeart Las Vegas; and Kiran Riar, assistant program director and on-air personality at WMPS and WHBQ in Memphis. Grisel Barajas, a previous mentee and rising programming talent, passed away in 2020.
