Summ’it aims to connect audiences through audio storytelling
A cryptic headline to be sure but nothing succeeds like success.
The Louisville Bats, a minor league baseball team in Kentucky, wanted to resurrect an old baseball tradition that had been pushed aside as broadcast profanity delays became commonplace throughout the radio broadcast chain; and expanded to more than simply clipping the occasional profanity.
Louisville Bats Director of Broadcasting Nick Curran said, “There’s something special and nostalgic about baseball on the radio. Our fans wanted that experience back…” Curran tipped his hat to the solution, StreamGuys’ Ultra-Low Latency Streaming technology. “StreamGuys gave us a solution that was much easier, faster and more affordable to implement than I ever expected.”

The stream, sourced from the team’s local radio broadcaster before the delay branch, is routed to game attendees’ mobile devices. Besides making fans happy the closed-circuit stream provides new revenue and sponsorship opportunities for broadcasters, the venue and the team.
