Jutel launches redesigned website showcasing broadcast portfolio
Italian broadcasters can apply from June 30 through July 29 for government funding to support investments in technologies including AI, 5G Broadcast, DAB digital radio and cloud-based media infrastructure.
The funding forms part of Italy’s 2025 extraordinary publishing support fund. According to Aeranti-Corallo, the Italian association representing local radio and television broadcasters, €4 million has been allocated to radio broadcasters, digital radio content providers and DAB consortia, while local television operators can access a separate €10 million fund.
The grants cover up to 70% of eligible investment costs, excluding VAT.
Eligible radio projects include investments in 5G Broadcast and multicast technologies, AI-based content production and distribution tools, DAB transmission equipment, DAB network upgrades, cloud-based media services, cybersecurity systems and emergency warning technologies.
The program also covers research and development related to DAB services, including Emergency Warning System (EWS) applications and break-in alert capabilities, as well as software designed to automate editorial workflows and distribute content across multiple platforms.
According to Aeranti-Corallo, applications will be submitted through an online portal operated by Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
