The Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium says it will again have a strong presence at the upcoming virtual ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2022, March 21–24.
Consortium chair Ruxandra Obreja will kick off the first session on March 21 from 2.15 p.m. to 3.10 p.m. MYT (7.15 a.m. to 8.10 a.m. CET), explaining why DRM is “smart radio” that enhances lives in the current challenging context. Simon Keens of Ampegon will immediately follow in Session 2 from 3.15 p.m. to 4.10 p.m. MYT (8.15 a.m. to 9.10 a.m. CET) with a presentation on how DRM is energy efficient in both AM and FM, offering broadcasting a clear path for cutting the transmissions costs.
DRM Consortium will follow the two session presentations with a full workshop on “Innovation and Extension of DRM in FM” from 4.15 p.m. to 5.10 p.m. MYT (9.15 a.m. to 10.10 a.m. CET). According to DRM, this will include the new findings following the comprehensive India trial for FM conducted in 2021 and offer attendees’ updates with practical and immediate applications. Top DRM Consortium specialists, like Yogendra Pal, honorary chair of the Indian DRM chapter and Alexander Zink, DRM consortium vice-chair and representing Fraunhofer IIS, will answer any questions.
