CRA unveils ‘Audio x Mixed Media Modeling’ session at Heard 2025
DHD audio has reported a strong year of technical innovation and market success, highlighted by the launch of the RM1 audio interface.
“The RM1 bridges podcast and broadcast workflows, offering a mobile audio mixer with integrated processing,” said Marc Herrmann, managing director. Features include a 16-channel USB interface, AutoMix for seamless audio balancing and browser-based remote control.
DHD also introduced the Control API in its firmware update 10.3, enabling secure interfacing with third-party devices. Herrmann called it “a leap forward in secure media network communication.”
High-profile installations
DHD completed several high-profile installation projects in 2024. RTV Drenthe in the Netherlands integrated DHD SX2 and TX2 consoles as part of a television production control room upgrade at its Assen headquarters. The upgrade replaced a DHD 4200 console that had been in use for nearly 20 years. Technical project leader Martijn Woering said the decision was based on the seamless integration of the new consoles with existing DHD equipment used in the broadcaster’s radio studios, newsrooms, and video editing suites.
In Italy, the radio and internet broadcaster InBlu2000 upgraded its Rome facility with DX2 and TX2 systems, part of a studio renovation led by BVMedia. The project included three production studios and a master control room to integrate with future upgrades planned for its Milan location. BVMedia CEO Roberto Bellotti noted the system’s flexibility in handling contributions from multiple sites.
Israel’s Center for Accessible Culture, formerly the Central Library for the Blind, chose DHD SX2 consoles for its Tel Aviv studio upgrade. Broadcast Design Ltd. configured the system to include unique audio cues for control buttons, allowing visually impaired operators to work with confidence. CEO Micha Blum highlighted DHD’s adaptability as essential to meeting the team’s specific needs.
Meeting client demands
Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation installed SX2 consoles and an XC3 IP audio core across nine studios and a master control room at its headquarters in Moka and on Rodrigues Island. Technical Manager Arvind Lobind cited the mixers’ robustness, space efficiency and ease of use as key factors in the decision. The project was completed in partnership with Eurocom Broadcast.
In Colombia, RTVC modernized its Barranquilla studios with SX2 consoles integrated via Dante audio-over-IP. The studios support regional and national programming under the broadcaster’s decentralization policy. Bogota-based ASPA ANDINA managed the installation, which connects RTVC’s facilities across Colombia to share digital resources.
DHD products were showcased at major exhibitions in 2024, including IBC, where the RM1 and Control API received strong interest from public broadcasters. “Feedback confirms we are meeting client demands, particularly for secure and versatile media solutions,” said International Sales Manager Chris Settele.
“Broadcasting remains a vital source of news and entertainment while podcasting continues its rapid growth,” added Joint Sales Manager Christoph Gottert. “DHD products are designed to support creators across the media industry.”
