Bauer Media has announced that Dee Ford is stepping back from her role as Bauer Media Audio U.K.’s group managing director later this year. Ford says she is moving into a new chapter of her life — spending more time with her husband and family.
Ford’s career with the business spans more than 35 years, having started in sales at Radio City in Liverpool. Bauer media says, “Under Dee’s passionate and expert leadership, the group’s business has grown to become the scaled and high-performing organization it is today with national and local services across all four of the U.K.’s nations.” It adds that Ford has also played important roles in the Audio expansion into the Nordics and Ireland.
Richard Dawkins, president of audio in the Bauer Media Group, says, “The U.K. business is in great shape, with a healthy and growing radio portfolio and solid digital foundations in place to enable us to deliver on the exciting opportunities ahead in digital audio over the coming years. I will miss Dee’s wise counsel, optimism and entrepreneurship, but I am pleased to confirm that she will stay with us to ensure a smooth and extensive handover to her successor once they are appointed.”
Bauer Media Audio will now commence recruitment for a successor.
