German company teleropa GmbH launched DAB+ Store, the first online retailer to offer DAB+ products exclusively. The site offers a wide selection of DAB+ radios and accessories for different listening situations. Shoppers can now access a wide range of products at any time via their laptop or mobile device.
To celebrate the launch, DAB+ Store is offering special discounts on well-known brands, including those from the premium segment. Marketing campaigns aimed at listeners are online to promote the first DAB+ store for the new generation of radio.
A press release from Digitalradio Büro Deutschland said that according to the latest GfK retail panel, more than 1.6 million DAB+ devices were sold in 2020. This represents a relative increase of 23 percent for Germany.
It also noted, however, the actual number of DAB+ radios sold is even higher, as the GfK retail panel only considers unit numbers and sales in specific segments of the German consumer market. Sales at discounters, purchases from abroad or non-factory car radios are not included.
