Audacy has partnered with Super Hi-Fi to launch its first FM broadcast station powered by artificial intelligence. From Oct. 31, Denver station Front Range Country 103.1 will be fully scheduled and automated with Super Hi-Fi’s suite of AI technologies, including scheduling, production, voice track mastering and audio preparation.
Audacy debuted Front Range Country 103.1 in March 2023.
Audacy’s team will also use Super Hi-Fi’s cloud-based Program Director to manage music curation, content, advertising, scheduling, voice tracking and station playout, accessible from any laptop. The broadcast group says this integration will enable it to design and deliver high-quality radio experiences more efficiently.
Simplifying station management
Super Hi-Fi says the station’s new AI-driven, cloud-first system will significantly reduce the costs and complexity of traditional broadcast operations. This approach includes a move to a fully transmitter-based playout system supported by the Orban 5950 Super Hi-Fi Edition. The company says the combined cloud-based AI tools and transmitter-based playout simplify station management while lowering operational costs.
“As we continue to invest in technology that enhances our content and portfolio, we’re excited to expand our partnership with Super Hi-Fi and integrate their capabilities at Front Range Country 103.1,” said Jeff Sottolano, Audacy’s chief programming officer. “Together, we’ll optimize programming and production to better serve our listeners and partners.”
“This is an exciting milestone,” said Zack Zalon, CEO of Super Hi-Fi. “Through this partnership, we’re driving innovation across the industry, maintaining radio’s legacy as a premier listening experience but with greater simplicity and efficiency.”
