SoundStack has announced a collaboration with The Associated Press to support the global delivery of its all-news audio stream.
The partnership brings AP’s digital audio distribution onto SoundStack’s platform, which the company describes as a full-stack solution offering delivery infrastructure, cloud-based automation and content repurposing tools for broadcasters and publishers.
According to SoundStack, AP’s news stream will now benefit from more reliable audio delivery through its global CDN, which includes 12 data centers. The company also cites increased operational control using cloud automation to schedule content, and streamlined content repurposing via SoundStack Splice, which turns on-demand audio into live streams. SoundStack adds that AP can also expect reduced costs through automation and more efficient streaming.
“At AP Radio, our focus is on delivering breaking news in a way that’s easy for listeners around the world to access and trust,” said Ron Vample, executive producer at AP. “Our collaboration with SoundStack enables us to enhance the listening experience and extend reach across digital platforms.”
SoundStack CEO Jon Stephenson said the company is honored to support the AP’s efforts. “There’s a lot that can hamper the dissemination of essential information,” he said. “The mechanics of that dissemination — from preventing outages, to reducing latency, to keeping revenue flowing — should never be a part of the problem.”
