STRESA, Italy — Executive leaders in audio broadcasting from 26 countries gathered at the Grand Hotel Des Iles Borromees, overlooking Italy’s Lake Maggiore, for this year’s RedTech Summit — an exclusive event focused on shaping the sector’s future.
With every attendee holding executive-level experience, the format encourages peer exchange over presentation.
Organized into closed-door workshops, the summit tackled six key strategic areas, selected in response to feedback from sector leaders worldwide:
- Collaboration — Addressing the global decline in radio’s enterprise value, protecting radio’s place in the car, and strengthening engagement with regulators.
- Content distribution — Exploring cross-platform strategies to expand reach, improve workflows and position radio competitively against tech and streaming giants.
- Audience strategy — Understanding Gen Z and 20+ audiences, identifying what works and why, and optimizing content and marketing approaches.
- AI and automation — Examining how artificial intelligence can improve margins through cost reduction, automated operations and innovation in content and campaigns.
- Audio advertising — Identifying solutions to streamline buying, introduce standard measurement metrics and weigh the risks and benefits of impression-based selling.
- Digital monetization — Developing revenue across podcasting, streaming, video and social platforms through smart storytelling, targeted marketing and automation.
RedTech Summits differ from traditional conferences — they are not platforms for keynote speeches. With every attendee holding executive-level experience, the format encourages peer exchange over presentation. The goal is to surface new ideas, challenge assumptions and identify solutions that have not yet been defined.
The setting played a key role. Delegates noted that the historic lakeside location — combined with ospitalità calorosa e generosa — provided a valuable backdrop for deep conversation and collaboration.
While most insights will remain with delegates, RedTech will share selected highlights over the coming weeks and in the next issue of RedTech Magazine.
