Sennheiser Spectera sits at center of NEP Australia’s audio overhaul
Inanda FM is a South African community radio station serving the northeastern part of the city of Durban on the country’s east coast. It has an average daily audience of 51,000 listeners. Inanda FM has broadcast on 88.4FM and on its website since its inception fourteen years ago.
The station broadcasts programs in Zulu, English and Xhosa that address the daily challenges faced by women, youth, children, people with disabilities and the wider community. It is also a key supporter of the INK Urban Renewal Node, a program to develop the neighboring townships of Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu.
The station’s technical management decided to renovate its main broadcasting studio and installed an AEQ Capitol IP12 digital audio console as the centerpiece of the new installation.
The AEQ Capitol IP12 is a 12-fader fixed configuration digital audio mixing console. IP connectivity is based on a single module incorporating 16 input and 16 output channels in its core. One of the main qualities of the AEQ Capitol IP is the wide input capacity available: four micro/line, 12 analog, four digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), two digital stereo USB, two optional telephone lines and digital multichannel audio links, plus 16 AoIP channels over two ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels of fiber optic input.
Buck Broadcast, AEQ’s distribution company in South Africa, managed the entire project.
