Early next month, very early, the Audio Academy, formerly the Radio Academy, will be hosting its annual festival, the now Audio Academy Festival, Oct. 1. It will be set at Royal College of Physicians in Regent’s Park, London.
An announcement explained, “The U.K.’s most successful broadcasters, business leaders and technological innovators will share the secrets of their outstanding ability to connect with audiences, while immersive sonic experiences and practical sessions will show why it’s natural for us to put audio first.”
According to organizers the set includes 68 speakers, 25 sessions on four stages. It lists broadcasters such as Greg James (BBC Radio 1), Elizabeth Day, Steve Day (Stingray Radio), Jeremiah Asiamah (BBC Radio 1), Simon Myciunka (Bauer Media Audio U.K.), Rhodri Talfan Davies BBC), Katie Thistleton (BBC Radio One), Paul Gerrard (Bauer Media Hits Radio), Steph Hill (Bauer Media His Radio), Victoria Glover Bauer Media Hits Radio), Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6), Heidi Dawson (BBC Radio 5), Alfie Moore (BBC Radio 4), James Cridland, Aleighcia Scott (BBC Radio Wales) and many more.
In addition scheduled are numerous podcasters and many radio/podcast hybrids.
Also planned is a deep dive into surround sound format Dolby Atmos which has become intriguing to a number of audio production engineers and producers.
