International media organizations warn over Czech public media funding debate
Genelec has expanded its range of RAW aluminum models to include the 8331 and 8341 studio monitors from The Ones series.
The distinctive RAW finish requires no painting and less finishing than the original painted models, and features Genelec’s Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) design, which the company says, delivers a flat frequency response, precise imaging and unparalleled acoustical performance. The enclosure is cast to produce a rigid structure with large internal volume which extends the frequency response and reduces resonance, which in turn reduces the quantity of internal damping material required.
As part of Genelec’s Smart Active Monitoring family, The Ones range integrate tightly with GLM software, which Genelec claims can minimize a room’s detrimental influence on the sound, enabling the user to produce mixes that translate perfectly to other systems, whether the format is stereo, surround or high channel count immersive.
“The RAW series is part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability,” said Genelec Managing Director Siamäk Naghian. “As our flagship studio monitor range, we’ve had many requests to make The Ones models available in the RAW series, so we’re very happy that we’ve now perfected a way of producing the 8331 and 8341 to the same high standards as the other RAW models.”
A proportion of each sale of Genelec’s 8331 and 8341 RAW aluminum monitors will be donated to the Audio Engineering Society (AES) throughout 2022.
