WorldDAB Automotive 2025 will take place in Madrid on Thursday, June 19. It will bring together international broadcasters, car manufacturers and technology experts to explore the role of DAB+ in the evolving connected car ecosystem.
The free event, held at Palacio Neptuno, is open to both members and non-members. Under the theme “DAB+ embracing the connected ecosystem,” the conference will examine how the collaboration between broadcasters and OEMs is shaping the future of digital radio in vehicles.
The event follows the widespread blackout that affected Spain and several European countries on April 28 — a reminder of radio’s importance as resilient, critical infrastructure. This year’s host city is also a symbol of DAB+ growth. Since launching services in February 2024, Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE has expanded DAB+ coverage to 15 cities, including tourist hubs such as Málaga and Fuengirola.
With around four million DAB+-equipped vehicles now on Spanish roads and most rental cars in tourist regions already enabled, the shift in in-car listening is gaining momentum. Cellnex Telecom, RTVE’s transmission partner, is supporting the rollout, and both organizations will speak live at the event.
WorldDAB Automotive 2025 also features a networking dinner on Wednesday, June 18, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Oroya Madrid in The Edition Hotel.
