MIW to examine modern leadership in January webinar

MIW is reminding industry professionals to register for its upcoming webinar, “Management 101 Becoming an Impactful Leader,” scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET (8 p.m. CET).

The one-hour live session is organized by Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, a U.S.-based nonprofit focused on advancing female leadership in the radio industry. MIW says the webinar is aimed at both emerging and current managers looking to strengthen their leadership skills in a rapidly evolving audio and media environment.

According to MIW, the session will feature four senior executives from across the audio and media sector, each sharing practical perspectives on leadership, management and team development. Panelists include Erik Hellum, chief operating officer at Townsquare Media Group; Dara M. Kalvort, vice president of digital sales at StreamGuys; Kieran Geffert, senior vice president and market manager at Audacy San Francisco; and Mary Boyle, vice president and general manager at WGN Radio Chicago, part of Nexstar Media Inc.

MIW says discussion topics will include defining effective leadership today, common challenges faced by new managers, leading teams through digital change, balancing empathy with accountability and identifying performance indicators beyond ratings and revenue. The session will also look ahead at the skills leaders are likely to need over the next five years and practical steps participants can take to advance their leadership path.
