Bauer Media Audio has announced its plan to purchase SharpStream, an audio streaming software provider. The acquisition is pending standard closing procedures and regulatory consent.
SharpStream is recognized for its audio streaming services to global brands, including prominent sports broadcasters like the ATP and Le Mans Racing Series, as well as various niche and community audio broadcasters.
The company already operates in seven of Bauer Media Audio’s markets, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Slovakia, Portugal, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Bauer Media Audio says this acquisition marks a continuation of the partnership between the two companies and is part of its strategy to advance its digital development.
On the acquisition Vivian Mohr, president of audio at Bauer Media Group, commented, “Having worked closely with SharpStream, we’ve been impressed by their professionalism and commitment to delivering high-quality audio streaming technology. We’re looking forward to officially bringing them into our team and are excited about their future contributions to our business.”
Dane Streeter, managing director at SharpStream, said, “Our longstanding partnership with Bauer has been incredibly productive. Joining Bauer is an exciting development for us, and we’re eager to contribute to the future of digital audio, both for Bauer and our third-party clients.”
