World Radio Alliance releases latest global data on radio’s dominance

The 2023 Australian Commercial Radio & Audio Awards are shaping up to be radio’s brightest night of nights, with record entries from commercial stations across Australia and nine radio stars hosting the event. The ACRAs, as they are known, champion excellence in Australian commercial radio broadcasting and audio across entertainment, news, talk and sport. This year’s event is at the International Convention Centre in Sydney on Saturday, 14 Oct.
The organizers say they have received over 1200 entries, up 15% from 2022, with 85 entries for the inaugural Individual Talent of the Year Award.
“The ACRA Awards bring the Australian radio industry together to recognize and celebrate its finest talent,” said Ford Ennals, CEO of CRA. “This year, the major Australian radio networks have joined together to provide some of their brightest stars to acknowledge those who have stood out all over the previous 12 months.”

In addition to existing Australian music-centered awards, the awards will include the Gudinksi Award, which recognizes a champion of Australian music in honor of the late Mushroom Records founder Michael Gudinski.
“The 34th ACRA Awards will celebrate 100 years of commercial radio in Australia. And while we honor a century of music, news, entertainment and connection, we crown those ensuring commercial radio’s continued vibrancy and relevance across Australia,” Ford said.
Tickets to the ACRAs go on sale in early September.
