SoundStack has expanded its global content delivery network by adding new edge-compute infrastructure in London and Sydney, enhancing digital audio performance and coverage.
The move, announced in London ahead of The Podcast Show, brings the company’s total international points of presence to 12, with further expansion planned this year. The company states that the upgrade enables faster and more reliable delivery of podcasts and streams by bringing key functions closer to end-users.
SoundStack’s new edge capabilities are designed to integrate with podcast hosting platforms, allowing them to continue offering their own front-end tools while utilizing SoundStack’s back-end to handle tasks such as audio delivery, dynamic ad insertion, contextual data processing, and compliance with IAB 2.2 measurement standards.
“In audio, it’s easy to overlook how critical physical server proximity is to delivering a seamless listening experience,” said Jon Stephenson, CEO of SoundStack. “Low latency, fast ad decisioning and scalable ad stitching are essential, but many platforms don’t have the resources to manage that infrastructure. With SoundStack’s enhanced CDN and purpose-built applications, they don’t have to.”
SoundStack operates its own infrastructure from 12 data centers worldwide, including New York, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Toronto, Tokyo, Singapore, Vancouver, Sydney and London.
