Commercial radio reaches 12.4 million weekly listeners in Australia
Vortex Communications is exhibiting at the 2025 Media Production & Technology Show in London on May 14–15, sharing a stand with distribution partner AETA Audio Systems.
Vortex is showcasing several remote broadcast tools, including an enhanced integration of its CallMe platform with the RØDECaster Pro II and Duo. The software-only CallMe-RC add-on now enables up to three simultaneous CallMe codec instances. Each can be routed to a separate physical or virtual mixer fader, allowing, for example, two remote contributors to connect to a single RØDECaster — each with mix-minus — while maintaining program audio and talkback with the studio.
Also on display is the CallMe-G IP add-on for the GSGC5 ISDN mixer (COOBE), which provides full CallMe functionality without compromising ISDN connectivity. All CallMe hardware codecs, including CallMe-RC, support RFC7198 SIP Dual Streaming for added resilience and compatibility with third-party codecs, such as the AETA Scoop family.
CallMe units can be managed remotely via CallMe Hub. The browser-based interface displays live status and enables full configuration without requiring physical access to the hardware, allowing journalists to focus on content rather than setup.
AETA is presenting its full range of IP audio codecs. ScoopyFlex, designed for sports reporting and remote broadcasting, supports standalone operation with an integrated battery and 4G/5G connectivity. Its docking station expands functionality with extra commentator positions and connection options.
Also on show is the Scoop-6 studio codec, which supports standard IP workflows as well as HD Voice and VoLTE. AETA’s ScoopFone range provides portable, cost-effective support for HD Voice, VoLTE and standard codecs, including Opus, G.722 and G.711, with built-in mobile connectivity.
