The Quantum2 W, according to Prodys, is a game-changer for live sports commentary, condensing the power of an outside broadcast van into a compact, hand-luggage solution. As the first portable codec to offer bidirectional professional audio and video, it manages two independent stereo channels and one video feed with sub-300 ms latency, according to the company.
Designed for mission-critical broadcasts, it ensures reliability through link aggregation (bonding) of up to 10 IP interfaces, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi and up to eight 4G/5G modems. This allows commentators at the venue to receive return program feeds with graphics and replays while simultaneously sending their live image from the booth to the production studio.
Compatible with industry standards like SIP and SRT, the unit integrates seamlessly into any professional broadcast ecosystem. Furthermore, centralized remote management via ProdysControlPlus allows the MCR to handle all technical configurations, freeing reporters to focus entirely on the match.
