Digital audio tools developer Sound on Digital, based in Netherlands, has joined the Ravenna digital audio technology spec group, a release announced.
Sound on Digital is developing a Ravenna-based software developer kit called Ravennakit. The release described it as a “cross-platform SDK designed to simplify and accelerate the integration of Ravenna audio networking into third-party software products. Ravennakit delivers a complete solution for OEMs and developers, offering low-latency audio transport, precise synchronization, and broad platform compatibility — including Windows, macOS, and Linux.”
Sound on Digital Founder and Principal Developer Ruurd Adema said, “We created Ravennakit to make it easier for developers to bring high-performance AoIP capabilities into their products without having to build everything from scratch.”
He elaborated, “The Ravenna protocol is robust, open, and widely adopted in the broadcast and pro audio industries — by making it more accessible through a clean, modular SDK, we hope to accelerate innovation and adoption among manufacturers and software providers.”
Ravenna Evangelist Andreas Hildebrand said, “With Ravennakit Sound on Digital lowers the barrier for developers looking to leverage Ravenna in software-centric environments.”
