As we move deeper into “show season” thoughts of the NAB Show New York come up.
Registration is now officially open for the show, scheduled for Oct. 22–23, at the Javits Center in New York City.
There’s a show floor for checking out the latest in equipment and services. A lot of familiar names will be there such as Comrex, GatesAir, Lawo, Nautel, Orban, Radio.Cloud, RCS, Telos Alliance, Wheatstone and WorldCast Systems.
It’s a multimedia/multi-application show that is hard to pin down with a single descriptive sentence. It runs the gamut from marketing to production to technology to business, etc. Having said that, artificial intelligence might be one uniting theme across sessions, programs and events scheduled.
The website list of “Trends and Topics” is Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Virtualization, Creator Economy, Sports and Streaming should be a guide.
Events include the NAB Marconi Radio Awards which is a big deal for the U.S. radio broadcasters. There will also be a Radio + Podcast Interactive Forum, Oct. 22. For sheer entertainment value the Post-Production World New York conference is packed with all sorts of cool, cutting edge video technology and practices behind so many movies and TV shows.
The show’s location, the Jacob Javits Center, is located in mid-town Manhattan, close to the Penn Station railroad terminal.
