United States-based Podcasting Movement is joining Podcast Day 24 to promote the day-long event for the podcasting industry. The conference will take place virtually on June 7, 2021.
Founded in 2014, Podcast Movement markets itself as “the world’s largest podcaster community.” It hosts an annual conference in the U.S. that brings together amateur and professional podcasters, media professionals and vendors to collaborate, network and learn.
On other side of the world, Podcast Day 24 is organized by Radiodays Europe, British Podcast Awards and the Australian Podcast Awards. The new partners stated that the “synergies of these two events and the love of podcasting in both teams is why we are joining hands and bringing together our two worlds.”
“We’ve admired from afar what the teams behind Radiodays and the British Podcast Awards have been doing, so we are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work together in 2021,” said Dan Franks, president of Podcast Movement. “Podcasting is a medium that transcends geographical boundaries, and Podcast Day 24 is a perfect testament to that!”
“There is something really happening in the podcast world right now and we, along with Podcast Movement are here to ensure that we are supporting the industry,” said Peter Niegel of Radiodays Europe, Radiodays Asia and Podcast Day 24. “Our shared goals mean this is a fantastic partnership giving podcasters around the world the opportunity to learn, connect and network throughout 2021, no matter where they are in the world and throughout the ongoing pandemic.”
Podcast Day 24 also announced that it has added Tony Phillips as a speaker for the event. Phillips’ audio career has taken him from producing and commissioning at BBC Radio, to Vice President at WNYC Studios, New York and to Broccoli Content in the U.K. He is currently an editorial consultant and PhD candidate at UEA, Norwich. He will reflect on lessons from the past and how they might offer direction and clarity for the future of audio.
In addition to traditional speaker sessions, Podcast Day 24 will also host “fireside chats,” masterclasses, workshops, spotlights on young talent and networking opportunities. The PD24 Women’s session, which focuses on the uniqueness of women in podcasting, is open to everyone who is interested.
Tickets to attend are £99 (€114) +VAT. The conference will be streamed live and available on-demand.
