KBS, the Korean Broadcast System has updated the mixdown room in its event location KBS Hall. The Stage Tec Aurus Platinum is at the heart of the upgrade.
KBS Hall is located in Yeouido, Seoul and hosts a variety of music and concerts performances by both Korean musicians and international guests. The media house broadcasts live and also records the concerts and shows for later distribution. The audio is managed from a control room at the rear of the hall.
The broadcaster decided to give a digital upgrade to its facilities to stay technically up-to-date. During the process it integrated a Merging Pyramix multitrack recorder.
It also equipped the control room with a new platinum Stage Tec Aurus mixing console with 48 faders.
This says, Stage Tec, is “perfect for working with the existing Ravenna/AES67 audio network technology and the analog effects units in the room. AES67 allows users to connect individual items to a network that primarily uses one protocol.”
Syncfish, Stage Tec’s distributor for South Korea supplied KBS with the Aurus Platinum.
