Broadcasters renew push for U.S. AM radio legislation on Capitol Hill
Cumulus Media has announced that Collin Jones will become the new president of Westwood One, effective Jan. 1, 2024. Westwood One is a radio programming producer, syndicator and podcaster and with providing industry marketing services and analysis.
Jones will add this plum to his current role as executive vice president of Corporate Strategy & Development for Cumulus Media. He will report to Cumulus Media CEO Mary Berner.
According to the announcement “Jones joined Cumulus Media in 2011 and is responsible for leading the Company’s strategy, corporate development (including major partnerships and M&A), and investor relations efforts.” He is also the National Association of Broadcasters Radio Board Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Radio Music License Committee.
Jones led the Cumulus’ original acquisition of Westwood One in 2013. He said, “Since acquiring Westwood One in 2013, I have been struck by the breadth of its capabilities, the strength of its content and service offerings, and its enormous influence on the broadening audio landscape. I look forward to working day-to-day with Westwood One’s creative, passionate, and talented team to fuel growth and unlock even more value for Cumulus Media and our shareholders.”
He succeeds Suzanne Grimes, who decided to embark on the next chapter of her career after eight years.
