The European Broadcasting Union has announced that on Friday, March 4 at 8.45 a.m. CET some 150 public radio channels across Europe — including Ukrainian Radio — will come together in a simultaneous broadcast of John Lennon’s song, “Give Peace a Chance.”
Based on an initiative from EBU Member, Radioeins (rbb), the EBU says the transmission will feature more than 25 countries and will also have the support of European commercial radio, including channels in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg.
rbb developed the initiative as a demonstration of how the power of radio can amplify growing support for peace and create a united movement across the continent.
Speaking on behalf of Ukrainian Radio, Yurii Tabachenko, executive producer, Channel One at UA: Ukrainian Radio, said, “UA: Ukrainian Radio thanks its colleagues from the European Broadcasting Union for their support. It is extremely important that today Europe is united around Ukraine.”
