Aeranti-Corallo raises interference concerns at Italian World Radio Day event
The Digital Radio Mondiale Consortium has released more details for its upcoming general assembly, scheduled for May 5–6, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The assembly will be held at the headquarters of Indonesian national broadcaster Radio Republik Indonesia.
A new release points to “progress made in delivering multistandard receiver solutions that can become the blueprint for many other countries and continents ready to implement open technologies. Unique prototypes were already shown last year after being tested by Indonesian specialists. One such prototype was hailed as the first in the world and showed the path for a multistandard receiver roll-out in many countries like South Africa, other African countries and elsewhere in the world.”
It added, “This year there is so much more to see as the full transmission chain is ready to deliver special benefits like Emergency Warning Functionality (EWF) and e-learning.”
DRM Consortium Chair Ruxandra Obreja said, “This general assembly will be practical, a real forum for unveiling new multistandard solutions and presenting the receivers that alone can give a country like Indonesia full access to best audio, multimedia and special benefits like emergency warning functionality. This will be an ambitious project run together with RRI for whose support and involvement we are most grateful.”
