Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio has opened applications for the third annual “Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Country Radio” mentorship program, presented in partnership with the Country Radio Broadcasters.
The initiative connects one selected mentee with senior leaders from across the country radio sector for a year-long program of mentorship, professional development and industry introductions. As part of the program, the mentee will attend the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville in 2027.
MIW and Country Radio Broadcasters said the mentorship reflects their ongoing collaboration to support career development for women working in the country radio format. The organizations have also signed a new multi-year agreement to continue the initiative.
Applications are open to one woman working full-time at a U.S. country radio station with at least five years of industry experience. The application window will remain open until April 17, 2026.
Supporting leadership development
RJ Curtis, executive director of Country Radio Broadcasters, said the program is designed to support leadership development within the format. “CRB is proud to continue our partnership with MIW on this important initiative,” Curtis said. “Developing strong leaders is essential to the long-term success of our format, and programs like this create meaningful opportunities for talented women in country radio to grow their careers while building lasting industry relationships.”
Jessica Chenoweth, the program’s 2025 mentee, said the mentorship offered direct access to industry expertise and insight. “Being selected as the 2025 mentee was an incredibly valuable experience,” Chenoweth said. “Learning directly from leaders across the country radio community and gaining insight into different areas of the business has had a lasting impact on my professional growth.”
Becky Brenner, MIW board member and partner at Albright & O’Malley & Brenner Consulting, said the program aims to strengthen leadership pathways for women in the format.“Country radio thrives on strong relationships, deep community roots and forward-thinking leadership,” Brenner said. “Through this mentorship, we are intentionally investing in the next generation of women leaders within the format.”
