WorldCast releases SureStream for KVM

WorldCast has released SureStream for KVM, which the company says transforms keyboard video mouse infrastructures by ensuring pixel-perfect transmission, latency-free video and “flawless” audio, even over imperfect IP networks. The company will showcase the product in Booth W7413 at the 2022 NAB Show, April 24–27, in Las Vegas. 

Few things are as mission-critical to the broadcaster as maintaining superlative KVM response times between on-site and co-location production and playout environments. Ken Kearney, R&D manager for APT and the SureStream range at WorldCast Systems, says, “Media companies no longer need to deploy dedicated network infrastructure for remote KVM systems to ensure high performance. With SureStream, they can send KVM, audio, and serial signals to networked stations or video monitors at scale to wherever the IP network extends, without sacrificing quality of experience.”  

WorldCast explains that the SureStream KVM applies two new capabilities. First, it combines all available network links into a single link. This virtual trunk technique optimizes the available bandwidth. The second step involves packet loss protection. The company says SureStream technology guarantees virtually zero packet loss while using 50% of actual trunk bandwidth capacity.  

Kearney adds, “With IP-based systems, there is no limit to the number of endpoints that users can add to a KVM system; the only limitation is the bandwidth of the user-supplied network that supports the system. SureStream delivers peak bandwidth performance across IP networks with no packet loss, regardless of location, making the transition to IP-based systems and their inherent architectural flexibility and cost advantages more practical for broadcasters.”
