WorldDAB says its upcoming summit next month “will explore how DAB+ energizes broadcast radio markets, offering listeners everything, everywhere, all the time.” It adds, “The flagship event brings together digital radio leaders and experts from around the world in Zagreb, Croatia, on Nov. 14.”
A release said, “In a keynote session, WorldDAB President Jacqueline Bierhorst will join Luka Đurić, Vice President, AER, and Director, Croatian Radio Forum, and Edita Kudláčová, Head of Radio, European Broadcasting Union, to explore how society, listeners and broadcasters all benefit from securing radio’s digital future.”
Other highlights include Carsten Zorger of Digitalradio Büro Deutschland and Lindsay Cornell, chair of WorldDAB’s Technical Committee discussing the newly launched Automatic Safety Alerts feature; Adriano Pitteri, program manager, broadcast distribution, for Swiss public broadcaster SRG SSR explaining the shutting down of analog FM upcoming in Switzerland at the end of the year; Hervé Godechot will look at the rapid advance of DAB+ in France; and more.
WorldDAB Project Director Bernie O’Neill said: “With switchover on the way in Switzerland and Schleswig-Holstein, and the launch of Automatic Safety Alerts, it’s the perfect time to bring together all parts of the DAB+ community, from broadcasters and regulators to automotive and equipment manufacturers.”
