World Radio Day 2026 will be presented at The Sanremo Music Festival on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 6:10 p.m. CET, with a media conference at the Radio and TV Media Room “Lucio Dalla” at the Palafiori venue. Organizers said attendance will be limited to journalists already accredited for the Sanremo media room.
The Sanremo Music Festival is Italy’s most prominent annual music competition and television event, staged each February in the coastal city of Sanremo. Organized by public broadcaster RAI, the festival is a major cultural moment in Italy and regularly draws national radio and television networks for live coverage and related programming.
According to World Radio Day organizers, holding the media conference in Sanremo for a second consecutive year reflects the connection between radio and Italy’s music and media sector during festival week. The main World Radio Day celebration will take place on March 9 in Milan.
Organizers said the Milan event will bring together broadcasters, producers, advertisers and technology providers for panels, live segments and industry discussions focused on this year’s UNESCO theme, “Radio and Artificial Intelligence.” A further media briefing is scheduled for March 2 in Milan.
