Vortex will showcase its CallMe diRECt-X browser-to-browser codec solution at IBC2025. Originally developed to help journalists working from home stream and record interviews with multiple guests, the platform has since gained traction in podcasting. It offers a straightforward way to deliver individual audio files for hosts and guests, with none of the content stored on external servers, making the solution GDPR compliant.
Live audio is streamed using Opus and is end-to-end encrypted. Recorded audio is saved in lossless FLAC format, captured locally within each guest contributor’s browser and uploaded in the background to the host, minimizing the risk of live internet connectivity issues.
Vortex will also present the new CallMe-Hub, which enables users to control and monitor codecs both locally, such as providing display information for units without built-in screens, and remotely for fleet management. The Hub is compatible with all CallMe hardware codecs, including the new RØDE CallMe Pro, which features three full-broadcast stereo codecs fully integrated within RØDE Caster software.
You can find Vortex in Hall 8, Stand 8F60.
