Triton Digital has released the latest Canada Podcast Ranker for the January 2024 reporting period (Jan. 1–28) as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service. The month had 11.2 million average weekly downloads and little change among the top rankers.
For this reporting period, the top three Canada-originated French-language podcasts remained unchanged from last month — “Le Radiojournal” (Radio Canada) still in the top spot, “Les chroniques de Pierre-Yves McSween” (Cogeco Media) in second position, and “Richard Martineau” (QUB) in third place.
Similarly, the top three Canada-originated English-language podcasts remained “Front Burner” (CBC/Radio-Canada) at the top, “The World This Hour” (CBC/Radio-Canada) came in second, and “World Report” (CBC/Radio-Canada) took third place.
“Dateline NBC” (NBCUniversal News Group) remained the top-ranked podcast overall remained. SiriusXM Podcast Network earned the first spot again on the Top Networks Report with 3.39 million average weekly downloads, followed by Wondery Network again at number two with 1.97 million average weekly downloads, and CBC/Radio-Canada again at number three with 1.75 million average weekly downloads.
The top-ranked podcasts had two debuts in January — “Dr. Death” (Wondery Network) and “The Dose” (CBC/Radio-Canada). The Canada-originated French-language list also had two debuts — “Mathieu Bock-Côté” (QUB) and “Dérives” (Radio Canada).
