Triton Digital has released its U.S. Podcast Report for the August 2022 reporting period as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.
Stitcher Media remained in the top spot on the Top Sales Networks Report with 60.4 million average weekly downloads and 15.3 million average weekly users. Audacy Podcast Network came in 2nd with 33.5 million average weekly downloads and 8.8 million average weekly users, followed by NPR with 31.7 million average weekly downloads and 6.6 million average weekly users.
In total, the top 20 publishers had 235.2 million average weekly downloads during August.
The top three podcasts based on downloads included Crime Junkie (audiochuck) at #1, NPR News Now (NPR) at #2, and The Ben Shapiro Show (Cumulus Podcast Network) at #3.
For listeners, the top three podcasts in August included Crime Junkie (audiochuck) at #1, Up First (NPR) at #2, and Morbid (Wondery) at #3.
New shows debuting during this period for listeners included The Sunshine Place (Audacy Podcast Network), Fed Up (Wondery), and The Bulwark Podcast (Cumulus Podcast Network), and for downloads, The Bulwark Podcast (Cumulus Podcast Network).
