StreamGuys is introducing new AI-driven workflow integrations designed to streamline tasks in live and on-demand streaming. The company’s initial AI services focus on automating the tagging process for ad markers in podcasts and on-demand content. It is also extending its live stream captioning services to accelerate captioning for on-demand media.
To be showcased at the 2025 NAB Show (Booth W1743), the AI-powered service is designed to automate the placement of ad markers in podcasts and on-demand audio streams. The goal is to simplify the process of determining when and where to tag transition points for midroll ads.
According to StreamGuys, this application builds on the company’s existing workflow conversion tools for ad insertion metadata. In 2023, StreamGuys introduced toolsets that convert SCTE-35 video ad insertion markers into ID3 metadata markers for audio-based ad insertion. While those tools automated the conversion process, tagging ad markers remained a manual task.
StreamGuys says the new AI application is designed to identify natural transition points between content segments and ad breaks, eliminating the need for manual marker placement. The service is aimed at customers using SGrecast to convert live broadcasts into podcasts for monetization.
Benefits for podcasts
“Our SGrecast customers can now use AI workflow integrations to insert prerolls, midrolls and postrolls automatically, then route content back into SGrecast for publishing,” said Eduardo Martinez, vice president of technology at StreamGuys. “Even for a single podcast, this automation saves time but for publishers managing hundreds or thousands of podcasts, the benefits multiply.”

Martinez added that the same AI technology can generate automatic summaries and transcriptions to support production workflows. StreamGuys will also demonstrate how the AI application can speed up translation for on-demand content, reducing manual processing time for podcast producers.
“We’re applying speech recognition automation to pre-recorded content to help production teams manage large podcast libraries more efficiently,” Martinez said. “With our AI-driven tools, customers can insert midroll markers, produce summaries, extract keywords, improve searchability and create captions and translations.”
StreamGuys will exhibit at the ENCO booth in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 6 to 9.
The company also hosted a webinar on AI for captioning and transcription on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CET). You can catch watch it on demand here.
