The National Associations of Broadcasters has revealed the new date for the 2021 NAB Show in Las Vegas. Originally slated for April 11–14, the organization has moved it to Oct. 9–13.
“We have worked diligently over the last few weeks and months monitoring a range of variables, said NAB’s President and CEO, Gordon Smith in the statement. “These include health and safety concerns, economic indicators, industry developments and travel restrictions, to gain an understanding of overall trends and future conditions for holding a major event in 2021.”
He added: “We recognize the vital role NAB Show plays as a driver of innovation and an economic engine for the global media and entertainment industry. With that in mind, it’s critical we act on your behalf and in a way that will best serve the long-term interests of the industry.”
Smith also announced the 2021 Radio Show would “co-locate” with the NAB Show in Las Vegas. “We have done our best to avoid direct conflicts with other domestic and international events.”
In the interim, the organization plans to continue their online events. These include the Radio Show, Oct. 5–9; NAB’s Sales and Management Television Exchange, Oct. 14–15; and the virtual NAB Show New York, Oct. 19–29.
