Café Nashville relaunches syndicated shows using Radio.Cloud
Once upon a time when radio was just radio there were a handful of headphones designed for the market — with large cups aimed more for sound isolation than sound fidelity. AKG, Beyerdynamic, Sony and Sennheiser were familiar names providing “cans” for the market, along with higher-end studio and consumer headphones. But now radio is about content production so changes have been made and fidelity is an undeniable issue.
The latest from microphone and headphone maker Sennheiser is the HD 490 Pro headphone.
The open-back circumaural design features a 38 mm driver with a stated frequency response of 5–36 kHz.
Open mesh construction for the cups is designed to minimize resonance and provide an open air.
It ships with two sets of cup ads, velour and fabric which Sennheiser says provide a slightly different response.
There’s also a HD 490 Pro Plus package with some extra goodies thrown in.
Sennheiser will be at the upcoming ISE 2024 show in Barcelona Jan. 30–Feb. 2, with a pro audio stand, 7A700 and business communications, 3C500.
