Part of Radioplayer Worldwide, Radioplayer Italia allows listeners access to radio stations via devices connected to the internet. Through the Radioplayer app, listeners can access around 140 Italian local and national radio stations free of charge, without any prior registration.
The group has launched a campaign series to increase awareness and encourage more people to download and use the app. Phase one is a three-week run of radio spots, which began on May 25. The second phase starts on June 14, with digital advertising through social networks Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Radioplayer began in 2011 in the U.K. when the BBC proposed a pan-industry partnership aimed at growing online radio listening. It focuses on making radio accessible in the car, through smart speakers and via apps.
Radioplayer Worldwide is currently a network of 14 countries: France, Germany, U.K., Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Sweden and Canada.
The Radioplayer apps are available for smartphones and tablets (Apple iOS, Google Android, Samsung, Huawei), smarthome devices (Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Bose, Sonos, Amazon Fire Stick), smart TVs (Android TV, soon on Samsung and Apple TV) and the Apple Watch.
