With less than a month to go before Radio TechCon takes place, on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at IET London: Savoy Place, the event’s organizers have announced three new sessions for the annual technical conference.
Inside LBC’s Millbank 2.0
Jon Crew from Global will explain how the broadcaster built LBC’s new home at 4 Millbank — a facility described by the team as four times larger and twice as clever as its predecessor. The presentation will explore how Global integrated technologies from multiple manufacturers, used Node-RED for system automation, and discovered that comfort can play an unexpected role in creative output.
From community studios to the cloud
Castledown FM, a community station in the U.K., was forced to relocate from its long-time premises into a smaller space at short notice. The session will show how the team rebuilt its setup, moved its playout to the cloud, and maintained reliable operations despite limited budgets and technical resources.
Mini masterclass: AI for audio
In a new 30-minute masterclass format, Radio TechCon promises to demystify generative AI for audio professionals. The session will explain how generative AI differs from traditional AI, how it can be utilized beyond search engines, and how radio and podcast creators are already incorporating it into their production workflows. The session will also delve into the underlying technology and explore its future applications.
